6 Legit Steps to a Perfect Self-Care Routine

Include these 6 simple and legit self-care rituals in your daily routine to boost your productivity and get your life together.

HOW CAN YOU TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?

Life can be so overwhelming at times, right? You’ll understand this better if you have kids, haha. Kids are so active all the time, they won’t let us take rest for a few minutes, and if by any chance, they do give us some time off, we are either busy with house chores or staring at the phone screen that we don’t even realize that we are neglecting ourselves.

You need to love and take care of yourself, every day, especially if you are a mom and take care of a kid or two, even if you are a student or a teacher or a person who works full or part-time. EVERYONE NEEDS LOVE, CARE AND ATTENTION and the person who needs it the most is yourself.

You should reward and treat yourself every now and then & that is where self-care or self-love routines come in. I highly recommend having a self-care routine to follow every day or every other day because

a) It will make you feel really good.

b) You will develop a beautiful connection with yourself and will highly appreciate yourself.

 

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

For practicing self-love and care you have to detox your life. Remove all the negativity and negative people from your life. You don’t need that. All you need and deserve is love, care, and positive vibes. They’ll keep you going and moving forward.

Do take some time off of your work and kids and dedicate that time to yourself, enjoy those moments. And do it daily.

Have a self-care routine, both physical (body, skin & hair) and internal (heart, mind & soul), write it down in your journal, diary or even in your Notes (app on your phone).

It will remind you to take care of yourself and not let life take over you. Have a routine and stick to it. It’ll help a lot.

 

WHY IS SELF-CARE SO IMPORTANT?

You go to work, you have a family to look after, and you have kids who are running around creating the mess all the time which you have to take care of, eventually and you have a ton of chores piling up at home. You get caught up in events, guests, social media, meetings and a lot of other things. To make room for all of this stuff, you skip lunch, stop going to the gym, and forget about your social life entirely. When we’re stressed, self-care is usually the first thing to go.

WHY do YOU need to TAKE CARE of YOURSELF?

Because
1. You deserve it.
2. You’ll appreciate yourself a lot.
3. You’ll feel so much more productive afterward.
4. You’ll feel better and relaxed.
5. Enhanced self-esteem and improved self-knowledge.
6. Why not?

Who doesn’t like a chocolate and a long hot bath every once in a while? Self-care is all about treating yourself after all that you do. It’s a way of bringing the positivity back in your body, mind, and soul.

Make sure to treat and reward yourself every now and then. Eventually, it will make a huge difference in your entire routine. Trust me, loves!

Be your own best friend and show yourself a ton of love!

You are always focused on goals, meetings, deadlines and excessive expectations of people around you; that you rarely take care of yourself. It’s easy to neglect to take care of ourselves because when we’re busy and overwhelmed, even a small reprieve feels like a luxury. So actually taking time to eat lunch, exercise, and hang out with friends? That just feels like slacking.

 

STEPS:

Here I have a few ways of how you can take care of yourself even on the busiest days, with a very little time. These small steps will make a huge impact on your life and you’ll be more than happy that you did it.

So let’s begin.

 

1. HYDRATION:

First of all, did you drink enough water today? You should drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water every day. It will boost your metabolism. It’s going to make your skin better and will certainly make you feel fresh and active.

Take a sip; it’s going to benefit you more than you think. Get up in the morning and before doing anything, drink a tall glass of water, every day.

If not water, try either green tea or lemon water.

 

2. HYGIENE:

Stay clean, stay fresh, and stay focused.

Take a shower, wear clean clothes, brush and floss two times a day, wash and scrub your face, wash your lady cave and your feet.

Wearing nice clothes, making a casual hairstyle, using body butter and a daily makeup routine makes my mood 80% better.

Apply face mask, scrub and exfoliate your face, apply a moisturizer. Give your skin the glow it deserves.

3. HYPERACTIVITY:

Have you moved around today?

Get up! Do some exercise or stretches. Put on your favorite song and start dancing. You can do some yoga or Zumba if you prefer.

Head out and go for a run. This one can literally boost your mood. Have fun!

4. REST:

Catch every sleep you possibly can. Take power naps, they will help you a lot.

Drink a cup of chamomile tea, turn on a few candles, do some bed-time yoga and get ready to sleep.
You’re going to feel better and do better.

5. REWARD:

Recognize your hard work! Don’t save special items for ‘special occasions’. Make the occasion ‘special’.

A few ways you can reward yourself are

* having a few extra hours of sleep.

* Make yourself some brownies.

* Order a large pizza with extra cheese and olives.

* Have a large cup of coffee.

* Buy yourself that cute top you adore.

* Watch your favorite TV show and have a good laugh.

* Talk to a friend and have some fun chit-chat.

* Getting lost in a good book can also help release your stress.

* Adult coloring books can help with mental issues like depression or anxiety.

* Make one small change to your diet for the week.

* Drink an extra glass of water each day, or have an extra portion of veggies each meal.

* Have a Bucket List and try to achieve as much as you can!

6. RECHARGE:

Meet some friends, have a drink, do some Netflix and chill, get a massage or go shopping or have a date night with your loved one (or yourself). Choose your way to refresh yourself.

    Self care is a very big focus right now, and I believe it is so important. How can do any good for others, if we never fill our own cups. However, on the flip side of that coin. I am also see a disturbing amount of narcism developing from this trend as well. It is a slippery slope and balance truly is the key, you know what they say about too much of a good thing.

    Self care is SO important! I try to do a lot of these. In fact, I’m trying water right now. When I’m done with blog stuff, I plan on relaxing with a good book. Reading is one of my favorite things to do.

    I noticed that your 6 points are identical to the 6 points shared on Sidra’s blog post here http://sidra.me/practice-self-care/
    As a blogger who has had my own content lifted without attribution, I wanted to really graciously suggest that you should, at very least, credit & link Sidra’s article for the 6 main points you use, as it appears her post was published before yours. It doesn’t matter if you have changed/altered the text under the bullets, when you have clearly used someone else’s main points, you need to give attribution, even if you’re going to elaborate/specify new sub thoughts. If I am incorrect about this, and SHE has copied from YOU, then you may want to contact her about this problem. When this happened to me, I used a polite cease & desist letter to request that the copied content be removed (because in my case there was more direct copying) or proper attribution be given.
